We raise heritage breed pigs that are well suited to living outdoors where they delightedly root, roam, and forage to produce healthy, delicious pork.
Our pork is not certified organic but the pigs eat certified organic feed and spend their lives in pastures and woods managed organically.
A half share will require about a half of an upright fridge/freezer combo; a whole share will require the whole freezer of an upright fridge/freezer combo or part of a dedicated freezer; and a sausage share will require a shelf or a bit more in a freezer.
Like you and I, pigs (as monogastric omnivores) are what they eat. Mass produced commercial pork and processed pork products generally have very high Omega 6:3 ratio (i.e. bad fat profile, highly inflammatory) and lower levels of vitamins and minerals compared to pasture-raised pork. Our pork goes a step further than the typical "pasture-raised" pork by feeding an organic, soy-free feed ration, which further improves the Omega 6:3 ratio, removes the unknown of GMO products in our food, and avoids the high levels of phytoestrogen chemicals found in soy.
We do! We offer free shipping in our 2-day ground network, which includes much of the eastern half of the US, and can work with you and our shipping network partners on getting the lowest possible rate for areas outside the ground network.
It depends on how long before the harvest date you make your deposit! We typically have pigs ready for harvest in the spring and fall. Once you make your deposit, we will notify you about projected harvest dates.
