Lewis Family Butcher's Buddy Program - Beef Share
Lewis Family Butcher's Buddy Program - Beef Share
Welcome to the Lewis's Butcher's Buddy Beef Share page! Here you can reserve high quality grass-fed beef for the lowest price (as if you were buying the whole cow) without the bulk beef commitment (because you can purchase as little as 1/8 of the cow, which is about 50 pounds of packaged beef). If you want more than 1/8 of the beef cow, simply add another unit to your cart for a 1/4, etc.
Reserve your share online with a deposit of just $267.
Pay the final amount after deposit (approximately $359) when your beef is ready. The expected wait is typically 3-8 weeks, depending on how long it takes to book up the Lewis's beef cow.
More About Our Beef
Our cattle are raised on the rolling pastures of western North Carolina foothills where they are provided a constant supply of fresh, high-quality "salad" to produce delicious and nutritious beef.
After slaughter, we hang our beef using a method called "tenderstretch", which achieves the tenderness of long aged beef without high levels of moisture and trim loss associated with long aged beef.
Your quarter beef share includes:
- 25% steaks such as Sirloins, New York Strips, Ribeyes, and Tenderloins
- 35% savory cuts such as Chuck Roasts, Top Round Roasts, and Short Ribs
- 40% premium ground beef in 1 pound packs
- Optionally
- knuckles and other premium soup bones
Deposit:
Your deposit for an eighth beef share is just $267. This is a non-refundable deposit. Your final payment after deposit (estimated around $359 based on an average of 50 lbs of beef) will be calculated once the beef is processed.
How it works:
You reserve your share with a deposit online. We go to the pasture, select the healthiest, fattest cattle available and then butcher it with old-world craft and care in our shop. Once ready and the final payment is made, you can pick up or have us ship your excellent beef straight to your door. We won't leave you stranded after the purchase - you're part of the family now! If you have any questions or want ideas about how best to enjoy your beef, we're here for you.
Packaging:
All cuts are vacuum sealed and labeled.
Freezer space:
General rule of thumb: you need approximately 1 cubic foot of freezer space for each 30-40 pounds of frozen meat. For an eighth share, plan for approximately 1.5 cu. ft or approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of your freezer in a fridge/freezer combo.
